Uptime monitoring features for websites, APIs, servers and jobs
UptimePilot puts every check type, alerting with escalation, status pages and monthly reports into one plan. This page lists each capability, how it behaves and which plan includes it, so you can judge the product on what it actually does.
Eight check types in every plan
Every plan includes all eight check types. You do not pay extra to watch a certificate, a port or a cron job, and you do not need a second tool for any of them.
- HTTP(S) checks the status code, the full response time and the redirect chain of any URL. You choose the accepted status codes, the timeout and whether redirects are followed. Read more on website monitoring.
- Keyword checks confirm that a word or phrase is present on the page, or absent. A checkout page that returns 200 but says "Service unavailable" is caught as down.
- API checks send the method, headers and body you define and test the JSON response with assertions, such as a field equal to a value or an array that is not empty. Chained API requests let one step pass a token or an ID to the next. See api monitoring and synthetic monitoring.
- Ping (ICMP) checks that a host answers, with the round trip time recorded on every check. Servers that block HTTP but answer ping, such as routers and internal hosts, are covered this way. See server monitoring tools.
- TCP port checks open a connection to any port, such as 22 for SSH, 25 or 587 for mail, 3306 for a database or a custom service port. This is the core of the network uptime monitor.
- SSL certificate checks read the certificate your server presents, warn you before expiry and flag a broken chain, a hostname mismatch or a certificate that is not yet valid. Details on ssl certificate monitoring.
- Domain expiry checks read the registration expiry date and warn you weeks ahead. See domain expiration monitoring.
- Heartbeat monitors give each cron job or background worker a unique URL. The job calls it on every run, and UptimePilot alerts you when the call stops arriving. See cron job monitoring.
Check intervals down to 30 seconds
Starter checks every minute. Team, Business and Enterprise check every 30 seconds. On a 1 minute interval an outage is detected within about a minute plus the confirmation from the second region, which typically adds a few seconds. You can set a longer interval per monitor for resources that change slowly, such as a marketing page that rarely changes.
Response time and timing breakdown
Each HTTP check records DNS lookup, TCP connect, TLS handshake, time to first byte and total time. Over time this becomes p50, p95 and p99 response time per monitor, so you can see when the slowest requests drift before the average moves. More on website performance monitoring.
Timeouts and thresholds you control
You set the timeout per monitor, for example 10 seconds for a page and 5 seconds for a health endpoint.
Alert Slack #ops and email the on-call engineer when 2 regions report down. Escalate by SMS after 5 minutes.
Multi-region confirmation that removes false alarms
Checks run from two regions, US East and EU Central. When a check fails in one region, the other region repeats it right away. A monitor is marked down only after the second region confirms. A short network hiccup on one route no longer wakes anyone up, and a real outage still reaches you in about a minute.
Alert channels included in every plan
Email, SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams and webhook alerts are included. SMS has a monthly allowance (30, 150, 500 or 1,500 depending on the plan) and every other channel is unlimited within fair use. Alerts go out when a monitor goes down and again when it recovers, with the duration of the outage.
Escalation when nobody responds
Escalation rules send the alert to the next person or channel if nobody acknowledges it within the minutes you choose. A typical setup alerts the on-call engineer by Slack and SMS, then the team lead after 10 minutes, then a webhook into your incident process after 20. The website downtime tracker page shows more setups.
Maintenance windows
Maintenance windows pause alerts for selected monitors during deployments or provider maintenance. Checks keep running in the background, so the history shows exactly when the service came back, and the window can appear as scheduled maintenance on your status page.
Status pages with your brand and domain
Each status page shows components linked to your monitors, so component status follows real checks. You post incident updates as you work, announce scheduled maintenance in advance, and subscribers get email updates. Pages carry your logo and colors. Team includes five pages with custom domains, Business 20 pages with password protection for internal or client-only pages, and Enterprise 50.
Uptime and SLA reports
Every plan shows uptime percent and response time per monitor. Team adds a monthly SLA report as PDF with uptime percent, response time percentiles and the incident log. Business and Enterprise add white-label client reports with your agency branding, ready to send each month. More on the uptime monitoring service page and for uptime monitoring for agencies.
Data history per plan
Check history is kept for 90 days on Starter, 1 year on Team, 2 years on Business and 3 years on Enterprise, which covers yearly SLA reviews on Team and above.
Teams, roles and groups
Invite 3, 10, 25 or 100 team members depending on the plan, all included in the price. Roles control who can edit monitors, manage alerts or only view. Groups organize monitors per client or project, so an agency can keep each client separate and a SaaS team can split production from staging.
SSO and audit log on Enterprise
Enterprise adds single sign-on with SAML and an audit log of account activity, such as who changed an alert rule and when. Read more about uptime monitoring security.
REST API for monitors and incidents
Business and Enterprise include a REST API to create, update and pause monitors and to read incidents. Teams use it to add a monitor for every new client site or service from their own deployment scripts, and to pull incident data into internal dashboards.
Where teams use these features
The same features fit different teams. SaaS companies combine API checks, status pages and SLA reports, described on uptime monitoring for saas. Stores rely on keyword checks on cart and checkout pages and SMS to the person on call, as shown on ecommerce uptime monitoring. Agencies group monitors per client and send white-label reports. If you are comparing products, the buyer guide to website monitoring tools lists the questions worth asking any vendor. To see a real check before you sign up, run a website uptime test on any public URL.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 50 | 1 min | 10 | 1 | 30 | 3 |
| Team | 200 | 30 s | 50 | 5, custom domain | 150 | 10 |

Prices start at $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly. Full details on uptime monitoring pricing.
01
Are all check types included on Starter?
Yes. Every plan includes HTTP(S), keyword, API with assertions, ping, TCP port, SSL certificate, domain expiry and heartbeat monitors. Plans differ in limits, intervals and reporting, not in check types.
02
How fast does UptimePilot detect an outage?
On Team and above checks run every 30 seconds, on Starter every minute. After a failure, the second region confirms within seconds, so most outages reach you within one interval plus a few seconds.
03
Can I monitor pages behind a login?
API checks can send headers and a request body, so you can call an endpoint with a token or test a health route. For full pages behind a login, a common approach is a dedicated health URL that checks the same dependencies.
04
Is there an API on every plan?
The REST API is included on Business and Enterprise. Starter and Team are managed from the account.
05
Can I use UptimePilot for client sites?
Yes. Groups keep each client separate, status pages can sit on the client's domain, and Business adds white-label client reports.
